Go back to XP for now.

When there's a service pack for Vista in a few months and most of the initial teething problems get sorted, then you can go to your Vista (so keep the CD).

Thanks Fo3nix for that info, I will revert back to my XP for now.
Broadband is OS agnostic - it doesn't care whether you're running Vista, XP, Linux or OSX; or running an XBox 360 or a Nintendo Wii.

I assume you're problem is with the automatic setup CD that came with the modem.
ISPs often have manual setup instructions on their websites.
You should take a look.
Damn it, grammar error.
Should have been 'your' and not 'youre'. Eejit.
I agree with llamatron there. One issue though may be that if they give you a USB modem, it'll require certain drivers that may not be written for Vista yet. However, you should be able to easily replace that with an ethernet router, and ethernet works with all OSes, including Vista.
If you're familiar with this web site, I'm amazed that you went ahead and bought Vista in the first place. i haven't seen a good word for it on here
