ive only just changed my monitor over and upgraded to a flatscreen one and im using my existing leads as its the same fitting but just keeps going black then then back to normal then black and so on and my previous screen was fine with these leads

I do not believe the problem is with the leads. Do you have an FX5200 graphics card?
What resolution is the display set to?

Have you changed the refresh rate to suit your new monitor?
Most LCD displays require a refresh of rate of between 60 and 72 Hertz, whereas if your previous monitor was a reasonably modern CRT, it probably had a refresh rate of between 80 and 100 Hertz. For best results, you should also change your resolution to match the native resolution of the monitor.
