Printer Installation gone crazy?

I have just installed a Hewlett Packard PSC 1317. The icons are on the desktop. The program is listed when I select programs. It's listed in the add/remove programs. However, when I try to print anything, it says no printer installed and it doesn't show in the control panel under printers and faxes. What has happened here? Can anyone advise please?

ACtheTROLL

Because it's an all-in-one I suspect that what you have done is to install the utilities ... but not the drivers.

Look in Start | printers and faxes
can you see your printer?
If you have the CD use that ... or get the latest drivers from
