Using audacity to copy old tape problem

Am trying to copy an old cassette onto computer using audacity...i keep getting gaps in the file on the computer... skips last just a second at most....can anyone help?

It could be that you don't have enough RAM or your Hard-drive is trying to perform other tasks as you are recording your tape.

Make sure you are not running other programs whilst using Audacity, and turn off your screen saver and virus protection temporarily.MIght help.
