Silent dial tone

How do I get my audible dial tone back when dialling my ISP under Windows ME? Until recently I had the comfort of hearing my phone 'purring' dialling then connecting but since being 'hit' by a trojan that tried to reroute my calls to a Premium cost line I can no longer find out how toi reinstate the dialling 'noise'. (I got rid of the trojan by the way thanks to some advice on this web-site)
