I have this awful, irritating Spycrusher programme on my PC, it isn't in my downloaded programmes, but constantly pops up telling me I have trojans and spyware etc and need to download their software to remove them. I use McAfee, AOL and run Windows XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated in helping me remove it

Spycrusher is part of Smitfraud so the above recommendation wont do much more than mask the problem.
My advice is to register here

Download and extract this
http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/hijackthis _sfx.exe
to My Documents
Open it by clicking on the icon and click on "scan and save a logfile"
It will save a text log in the same folder. Start a thread in the Malware Removal room where a voluntary expert will get you cleaned up.
It might even be me.
