pc problem with explorer

Cannot open anything on my computer even system restore without a check box opening and asking which program to open with, even get this with the run command from the start menu, also explorer wont open it keeps saying internet explorer has encountered an error and needs to close then the screen goes blank

have you been messing with the registry? or used any registry cleaners?

All i can suggest is system restore to replace the file associations

Yes ive used a couple of registry cleaners and i think thats the issue cant use system restore it keeps asking what program to open with and i don't have a clue do you?

most registry cleaners come with an undo mode.
Open your registry cleaning prog and just undo or restore to the last registry settings.

I would but i cant open any programs other than firefox

start your pc in safe mode,then you will be able to open the programmes you require such as system restore or your reg cleaner.

well tried in safe mode with the same results cant open anything without knowing what program to use
