Photo as screensaver
I have a photo of a much loved cat who died this week. It's stored in My Pictures. Is there any way to transfer it to Screensavers ? I can see how to use it as a desktop background, but I don't want that constant reminder of him.

Sorry you've lost a pet...they eventually become one of the family don't they...i find loosing them is just as hard sometimes.

You need to put the ONE picture you want into a folder on its own and when on the screensaver tab, select My pictures slideshow click on Settings then Browse and navigate and choose that specific folder (it wont navigate to it if its a pic on its own, it must be in a separate folder) probably easiest to bung it on the desktop if youre unsure.
Right click on the pic and copy it to the new folder rather than cut it or drag it to be on the safe side.
The screensaver using the My pictures slideshow option will then work.
Hope this helps.

Lol, dont give up yet Powyco, seeing as its for your cat Ill try and put it as simply as possible.
Easiest way is to right click anywhere blank on the desktop and select New from the drop down menu that appears then slide across and click on Folder and a new folder will appear on the desktop.
Right click on the new folder and select rename from the drop down menu. The writing under the folder will turn blue so you can call it what you like, Id suggest Screensaver pic
Double left click to open it and leave it open
Go to wherever your picture is stored and right click ON the pic and select copy from that drop down menu.
Go back to the new open folder and right click anywhere in it and select paste from the drop down menu, your pic (or a graphic) should appear. Close that folder.
Right click anywhere blank on the desktop and go to properties, click on the screensaver tab, select My pictures slideshow, click on settings next to it then click on browse and a new window will open, scroll all the way to the bottom of that window and you should see your new folder (whatever youve called it) somewhere near the bottom.
Click on it once to turn it blue, then click OK then click on Apply.
Click on preview to see how it will look if you dont move the mouse!
You can then click on settings to adjust the pic size and speed at which it changes. When happy click Apply again.
That ^^^^^ looks daunting but its pretty simple when you get to it! Bloody cats cause trouble even when theyve gone to moggy heaven!! ;-) Hope this helps.
