Home PC Spying Programme

Hello,

Can anyone please tell me how to check my home PC for a personal spying programme that may have been installed by another member of the household, I have had to write this via my daughters laptop, is there a programme I can download to check this without them knowing.

Go to Start > Search and search for this:
*.exe
(That will find all executable files, i.e. programs).

In the results panel, click on the 'modified' heading until the results are displayed in reverse date order (i.e. most recent first). Look for anything suspicious around the dates when you think the malicious program might have been installed.
(If you find a program you don't recognize, Google it to find out what it does)

Alternatively you could download the free version of Ad Aware here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_f ree.php, and if you also get Spybot download here http://www.spybot-sd-info.com/ , these two programs will detect any spyware or highjack malware.
