Set up your router
The router will allow you to connect your PC, laptop and printer without the need for cables. If you have an internet connection you can also browse the web without the need for wires.
Connect your wireless enabled PC or laptop
Follow the instructions on your PC or laptop to activate wireless connectivity between your PC/laptop, router and printer.
Print wirelessly
You can now send documents wirelessly to your printer, allowing you to print from anywhere in your office or home the sofa, kitchen table or even from your garden!
so ... no you don't need anything (except luck - I hate wireless)
the printer will just be a device on the network

After a quick search, it seems that they can be quite a bit more expensive than a wired printer. Although being wireless, they may save a cable (they'll still need a power cable so it's only really beneficial if you need your printer a long way from your computer or if there's more than one person using it) but I'd much rather that the extra money went on the print quality than a wireless feature.
a couple of good arguments
My printer is network attached ... and I have access to it from any attached machine ....
I can see that if you do a lot of front room surfing
and a lot of printing ......
the z1420 is 58 and much of the range is less than 100
so a "normal" printer + print server would cost more
however .... a quick search seems to show that the printers use single 3 colour cartridges .... which can turn out expensive.
nip down to tesco and look through this month's PC Pro ... they are reviewing lasers which are far better in all areas (except photo ptinting)
