Further to my earlier question, can i connect dv out to usb port , i do not have firewire

Not usually, although I did hear of a high-end camcorder that can download through USB. I think you have two options 1) Buy a firewire card, ther are pretty cheap these days. 2) If you can't fit firewire, for whatever reason, you can get a USB TV tuner box and run the camcorder through the composite ports on that. Won't be digital, but you be able to save out to avi/mpg or whatever.
