Paypal / ebay claim
4 Answers
Has anyone here filed a dispute / claim through paypal for an item on ebay and if so have you got the money back ok?
We ordered an item and after a month it was not delivered, so we emailed the seller several times and there was no reply so we made a claim through paypal.
It is now being reviewed and the seller has provided them with a tracking number (which i have tried and it is invalid), I was just wondering what you think the likelihood of us getting the money back is?
Do paypal check the tracking number? I've emailed paypal to tell them that the tracking number is invalid but have had no reply!

You file the dispute for an item not received.
Next, if you have not got your item, or a full refund from the seller, you must escalate the dispute into a claim. You have 20 days to to that from when you filed the dispute.
Next, paypal will determine the claim. They say that they finalise claims within 30 days from when the dispute was escalated into a claim.
If you buy an ebay item, and pay to the paypal account that was linked to on the ebay listing then you are covered for either 150 or 500 maximum, depending on the level of cover that was on the listing.

I had a dispute and got my money back no problem, the seller kept on saying he had dispatched but they were stuck in customs, but refunded after he was contacted by Paypal on the basis that I was to return the goods when they turned up.
Strangley they never turned up and he never chased me for them. Hmm I wonder....
Send any info you have to paypal, including copies of any emails and any other evidence. I don't think it took longer thana week for me to get my money.
