free online ict courses/tutorials

Does anybody know if there are any free basic IT courses on the internet?, that i can learn at home. Unfortunately i'm not to nifty even with the basics, when it comes to IT. if anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Try your local college (or ask at your local library)

Many colleges are offering free IT course nowadays.

You dont say what you want to learn - do you mean using a PC, basic word processing, e-mail etc, or something more complex.

I searched for "Free IT Courses" in Google and found a few sites, like this one

Thanks, this is helpful. I am 24 now and left college a few years ago. Dont suppose that matters though, they'll probably have some night school course. I'll check it out.

Its basically WORD, EXCELL, doing spread sheets, amongst other things. I've come to realise that I.T is used eveyday in the majority of industries, so i thought with me having very little knowledge up to now, maybe i might be able to learn the basics to assist me to maybe get my foot in the door for certain I.T based jobs.
