please Help am Desparate

This is the only site that I have ever gotten answers from. I must reformat my pc. os winxp home. I can boot in with my disks, but once I am in, the cursor will not move for selection of options, or to type. I have worked for days on this, please would someone help me.

try tab to move the cursor round... and space to put ticks in boxes

Ensure your mouse /keyboard are directly connected to your pc & not a kvm switch if your using one .
