not clear just how you are (or aren't) connecting. Wire, wireless, usb?

what os(s) 98/xp/vista?

limited connectivity generally means power from the hub to the network cable... but no tcp/ip address from dhcp.

first switch everything off ....
count to 20 ... then switch ther router back on.
when the lights stop flashing ... switch on the desktop.

open a command prompt
in xp .... start | run | type cmd and then click ok

in Vista open the menu - in search for cmd.exe
double click the top result

in the black screen type ipconfig /all
you'll see something like

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.67
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254

note ip address and gateway in your next answer
should be 192.168.x.x

(also try connecting to internet ;-)

then do it all again with the lappy
When I get that on my desktop, I switch off.

Switch the router off and on again, then restart the computer.

If it doesn't reconnect I go through the process of site survey, telling it to connect to my router and if necessary entering the password.

Mine isn't a Belkin, and I do have to do a bit of stuff to get it to ask for the password, so you might need a bit of geek advice there.
