Ok guys, new keyboard, keys move!!! You are awesome!
But........ it says it "not partitioned or Fat 32", and cancels my format. any resource sites, or advice?I have Fat32

the clue is in the message !! ... but it's odd that XP won't install to a fat32 partition ... or won't try to partition an unpartitioned disc!.
play with this ... and see what should happen

I hope you have a windows98 boot disc?
if not get one here ....

(the 98se option)
create a boot floppy .... start your machine with it and use fdisk to delete
logical drives
extended partition
primary partition
reboot - this time with the XP CD and try again
