Shaney, Lottie! Are you having turkey this year for xmas dinner? Want to see it running round alive in a field....free...without a care in the world....unplucked...un-paxo'd?

:o)
Oh yum!
Ooooh no ..no turkeys in our house Robinia :) Don't like turkey and I'm not really keen on chicken although I cook it for Mr S. Not keen on anything with fur or feathers .My Dad used to like rabbit ..yuk ...

Gosh, blimey and jolly hockey sticks (ha ha) it's blowing a flipping gale here .
I can't listen to anything and I feel left out :(
20 cups of coffee a day Vinny ? Sacrebleu ,that old floor bufferer must whizz round Wooly like a whirlwind .
Tut I must read posts properly .Your specialist doesn't sound very helpful at all Neti Weight gain is a thyroid thing .I could live on fresh air and not shift an ounce .
When they first diagnosed this I had put on an awful lot of weight for what seemed like no reason and remember it being my brothers golden wedding and I was in tears because I felt so lousy and had nothing to wear that would fit and look nice .I had to go out and buy something which is still in the wardrobe and now literally hangs off me .That's how much weight I put on !!
.But ,as soon as they found out I had this the weight dropped off as soon as the medication kicked in with a bit of sensible eating .I'm hoping that now I appear to be on the correct dose I can shift a few pounds .I'm nowhere near as overweight as I was at that time and being tall I get away with it but I could still do with some off. Perhaps now they have increased your dose you may find it easier to lose a few pounds because your metabolism will be working better .xx

somebody chuck a bucket of water over Vinny....that'll slow him down a bit :o)

Oh shaney, I thought you were a meat-eater...I love turkey (& chicken)...please send all your boxing day left -overs to me. I used to buy & enjoy rabbit years ago too.

Well I've finally prised some xmas ideas for the grandmonsters from my oldest son...clothes for the girls & anything Thomas the Tank [shudders] or Diego (Dora the Explorer's second cousin twice removed, apparently) for grandson.....fantastic, that narrows it down to about 20 thousand items then.
posted 2 packets to England today and cost me 28€ (you work it out) anyway that's it, not bothering about extended family, there are just to many of 'em!
When will they arrive netti...should I take the rest of the week off.Dont want to miss the postie..(:O)
Blimey Neti that's more a less 28 quid give or take a couple of farthings .
I do eat meat Robinia.. just not keen on anything with a beak or fluffy tail :))
My Dad used to keep chickens and rabbits and I lavished a lot of love on these poor creatures only to see them end up in a pot !
I never got over Joey my pet duck either:) He ended up in the oven. I can picture my Mum now sitting in the yard plucking a chicken and then pulling all the innards out. Bleeugh!
Evening biddies, nothing on Turkey Cam tonight... can't view it, perhaps they've already gone to bed... behead... whatever:(

I've been out looking for boots as that time of year >> http://i45.tinypic.com/11m6d0j.jpg is approaching but I didn't find any. If I were an Indian I'd belong to the Tenderfeet Nation - cf. Blackfeet - so I need shock absorbers like a golly goshing Mercedes but the sole mustn't be slippery and I don't want separate crampons that go clickety-clickety-clack when I walk into a store, tried that once and young girls looked at me in that "Are you daft? I despise you!" way that only women look at each other in. Same look you're given by the next woman in line when you exit a public toilet where you've, apparently, taken too long. Anyone know what look I'm talking about?

"Baileys with a hint of coffee" - Neti that is sheer evil posting that... I'm literally drooling now... aaargh....!
good morning...no gangs last night, just wailing bloomin cats!
Gadzooks & golly gosh, if those turkeys spread their wings they'll probably end up in my garden, it's tearing gales here...mind you, at the price they're selling for (!) it'll be a nice little earner.
I see what you mean shaney, I couldn't have eaten the rabbits I've had as pets either. I've always fancied keeping chickens but I know there's a lot of work involved, especially with all the foxes around these days.
you'd just have to stand guard to keep foxes at bay, Robinia

Dear oh dear, I remember when chicken was a luxury, though I've no idea why as plenty of people I knew kept their own -I think it was for the eggs rather than the meat. Turkey was just a word; I must have been 20 before I actually tasted one. I have not got on to rabbits, horses, pandas or frogs yet and don't expect I ever will.
is it Armageddon? It's dull and overcast here, washing just hanging limply on the line - what has happened to my sunny world????
mmm, think I'd have to dress down a little jno...more scary that way
http://russiatoday.co.../2009-02-17/gun_n.jpg

Yes I remember when chicken was a luxury too...not that my mum wanted to cook any anyway, she said she couldn't stand the look or feel of them & we never had a turkey cos they were "too dry & you're eatin' it 'til flamin' Easter"....as I remember, we did have a crampon occasionally at xmas ....

[that'll keep Sweedie busy....chortle]
Oh robi, jno could have used one of your occasionaly crampons to get to parque gúell!!!!
Gobble, gobble, gobble - here I am.

Hips and sciatica much better thank goodness. It's so nice to be out of pain.

However, have had some mild flu symptoms and a temperature for the last few days which I am putting down to the flu jab.

No turkey for us at Christmas, I can't stand it. Chicken in OK if disguised in curry or other exotic dishes. Rib of Beef on the bone, or ................. bread and water depending on the work situation................

We are now living on fish with meat about once a week, so I have grown fins and now blow bubbles continuously. Have got to the stage where I look at the meat on the meat counter, think 'yuk' and just buy some more fish. Mr LL who was a big meat eater must feel very cheated, but I now have an excuse not to buy it - I have to keep him fit and healthy!!

Have started taking kelp tablets as they are meant to be good for the hair and mine is decidely horrible at the moment, even though it has been cut. It seems to be the moulting season. Isn't kelp good for the thyroid?

Off to the vets shortly with both dogs for their jabs. I haven't told them yet!! They are both wimps!!!

How is Charlie, Robinia?

Mrs S. I will be in touch by mail very shortly. I have been very remiss!!!!!

xxxxx
My dad use to put a chicken on the table every sunday....then at christmas time we would eat it.!(:O)
