I have an older model laptop (Toshiba-Satellite Pro-Model-490XCDT. I am trying to connect to internet (Cox Cable). My roomate has set up a Netgear Router with 4 ports 3 of them already being used. Basically all I think I will need to connect is a Wireless PC Card. Can anyone tell me what card I can purchase that should work with an older model laptop such as mine? Would a Netgear WIreless Card do the trick? Thank anyone who can answer this for me.

As far as I am aware, PCMCIA cards haven't changed in a long while so getting hold of a netgear card should work fine. Make sure the 802.11 protocol matches up to the router aswell. If the router is 802.11g, an 802.11b card won't work with it. and vice versa. HTH
