METRO newspaper is offering a free 5 months trial of this antivirus and I've never heard of it before. It seems tempting. I currently have AVG free edition. Should I try out Keygold?

Free 5 months, then you pay AGAINST a free Antivirus which is better than many you pay for. Ooh that's a hard one...

Seriously, unless you are not happy with AVG for some reason, I wouldn't bother.
Don't fix what is'nt broken,i use AVG and if you go onto filehippo you will find the new 8 free to download.

mizi how do you do that?
go into google search, put in (filehippo) it will take you to the site where there's loads of free downloads,i got AVG8 from here and it's FREE.I have been getting a pop up on my screen advertising 8 but it takes you to a site where you have to pay for it,since installing it from filehippo this has not appeared again.I have also installed cc cleaner from this site, brill, and its safe.
brill?, popup?, safe!!!
I first tried Keygold Secure via a free trial and then went on to purchase when the trial was over. I must have tried every single AV on the market. I must say this has been great. I have 3 kids and what it does is amazing. How sad am I for standing up for this product, but who cares it is by far the best one I have used and the anti virus updates every hour. BRILLIANT!!!

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions. I still dont know if I should keep AVG or try keygold.
if you are willing to put hand to wallet .... buy kaspersky ... it's the current fave of all the PC mags (this is a fact not an opinion)
it has a detection rate of 98%.

in the same tests AVG detected 84%

you do the sums
oops

avira scores 92-94% and is also free ... so better than AVG again (the only thing that isn't better than AVG is nowt! - which is why it's always included in tests
One thing I did not mention is Keygold Secure incorporates Kaspersky Anti Virus, it updates every hour and is brilliant. Life is about opinions, I have tried and used numerous internet security suites and anti virus software, both free and paid for and personally speaking I would not change from Keygold Secure, it has been the best one I have ever used. I am probably a sad old so and so for banging on about it, but when you find something that works and does exactly what you want, it is good to share that with others
