burning photos

When trying to burn photos down to disk I keep getting message to insert a blank disk in the disk drive. The disks I have inserted are blank disks where am I going wrong? Ihave previously had no problem, I am using xp or Sonic and have the same problem with both

the wrong discs maybe CDR+'s instead of CDR-'s or vice versa.

post ... only + &-and - matters with recorders
burners don't care

can you try a different brand/batch of disc.

sometimes a bad batch just don't work

otherwise check
a - the drivers
b - the burner

You're not trying to put DVDs in a CD writer are you?
Remember even if just a little part of the CD is used, it isn't blank any more.

Thank you all for your help ,tried a different brand and it worked a treat but I still dont understand why the previous brand which I have used before successfully,didnt
