code 39 and xp

any help as per how to battle the above quote wld be great

Have you removed your cd software?

If so, re-install it.

If not - start - my computer - view system information (left hand panel)

Click Hardware and then Device Manager

Click on your cd drive - you will get a message that should say 'this device is working normally'.,
