xp anti virus
is popping up every 2 minutes
i looked in ad remove
to remove it its not theere
any ideas on how to get rid of it

xp doesn't have anti virus - you'd need to install some - so it should have a name.
if whatever is popping up is warning about a virus ... you need to get rid of the virus ... not the warning.

sounds like you may have the best of both worlds
a virus that warns about viruses ... is it asking for money?

or is it xp security centry warning about your scanner definitions being out of date

Try installing one or more spyware programs.

Free ones are:

Adaware

Spybot search and Destroy

Install and run them to see if they find it.

XP Antivirus needs a bit more grunt to shift than those two offer.
Download and save this to your Desktop
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTool s/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Now boot into Safe Mode and run it from there. When it is finished it will prompt you to reboot the computer. press any key to do so.
It will restart your computer and complete the cleaning process.
