AS DVD160RW300 dvd recorder

My recently purchesed dvd recorder is recording in mono only, although correctly set up as per manual, - there is in fact no "mono" option in the set-up menu, but it even briefly displays "mono" when channel is achanged. Throughput to TV is fine, and the player plays pre-recorded dvds in stereo. Can anyone help me please ?

Could be just a poor signal but if the TV picture is OK I'd go for the recorder being just a little off tune.

If it was set up in auto try slight retune of the TV channel that the recorder plays back on.
