converting movie

Hi I have downloaded a few films from limewire but dont seem to be able to play them does anyone know of a converter or something the films are AVI and MPG4 when i try to put it on a DVD using Nero it says Unsupported file format I have a laptop Vista

Hi Dolly...........just Google AVI or whatever.........and you'll find plenty of converters..............usually free :o)

Just Google AVI to DVD converter and MP4 to DVD converter and dowload the freeware or shareware software.

what are you atually trying to do with them.. You started off saying you can't play them but then said nero doesn't reconise the format.... nero isn't a player

if you want to play them on your computer you just need the correct codec installed for whatever format they are in, try the codec pack below

Thanks everyone I will try your suggestions what I'm trying to do is put them on a CD to watch on TV but Nero wont do it keeps saying doesnt support file so I though I would change format then try again I think that right

Don`t know about MPG4, but a free one for AVI is sothink avi to dvd. There are others with free trials, but they will put a water mark right through the film. Be prepared , whichever you use, they take ages and barely let you into the computer while they`re converting.
