Bullguard security for Windows Vista

I currently have Bullguard Internet Security installed on PC running Vista. The renewal price is quite high considering Amazon are offering the same package for less than half the Bullguard price. I am hearing than most peoples PCs are freezing on loading this software and having lots of problems with Vista but not with XP!

I am wondering if this is the case and I should buy the renewal on-line as prompted, instead of installing a purchased disc from another source?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

As with a lot of people on here I use free anti-virus & anti-spyware programs .
For anti-virus http://www.avast.com/ ,
Anti-spyware http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html
Vista's built in firewall is generally considered good enough & with Windows Defender you have all you need without spending anything .
Yes I agree, I had a free trial of Bullguard, when I changed to Virgin. and removed it the first day. I didn`t like it, so went back to AVG free. I`m on XP.
Ditto me, not bullguard but norton. That was slow, and when it let through a virus, I went for AVG free. Can honestly say I have never had a problem with it.
