Please help, tekkie guys

=0(

One of my computers has developed a system fault, and I can't open Internet Explorer or Outlook Express.

I can open other applications, but they are slow.

Task Manager says that my CPU Usage is only between 3 and 11 %.

I am going to reinstall the OS (which is XP Professional).

I have copied most of my documents on to chips.

But (the question at last) ...

... as I can't open Outlook Express, where is the file in which emails are stored ?

Can I copy the file onto a chip so that I can open the emails on another computer?

Very big hug for anyone who can help.

(or for anyone who just fancies a hug)

Hi Jayne

All your .dbx files should be found if you follow the instructions below.

Make sure show hidden files is enabled under Windows Explorer. Go to Tools (Menu) -> Folder Options (menu item) -> Views (a tab) -> Show Hidden Files and Folders (a selector in the list you can see)
Go to C:\Documents and Setting\[User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\[GUID number, a long number]\Microsoft\Outlook Express\
Sorry - hit submit at the wrong time :o)

If you copy all these files onto a USB stick and then put them on another machine in the same place you copied them from you should be able to access them.
