Do you live in a freeview area?

http://www.freeview.co.uk/availability

and if you do do you have a decent outdoors aerial? though even if you do if it's old you may need it replacing to get freeview.

Yes my last box stopped working .
That was a couple of months ago but just checked and it says I cant get freeview here until 2012.
Must have changed.
Thanks x
OK just because that site says you can't get freeview doesn't mean you cant get it.

If your old box was working then obviously you can get it.

if the box you are trying is a fairly old one then they often had really bad receivers in the early ones and wouldn't work on weak signals.

you can get freeview boxes for about 15quid now (tescos) get a new one and you may find it will work fine.
Some older one won't work at all since the latest big Freeview update

The one Ive been given is a Digihome.
I dont see that on the list.
I asked in Argos about buying one but they said they dont have a return policy on freeview boxes.
I dont want to buy if I cant get my money back if it doesnt work.
If Argos won't replace a broken one they are breaking the law !

If I buy one in Argos and it doesnt work in my area they wont replace it even if it is not broken.
cab - this is a bit naughty but perfectly legal. Under the Distance Selling Regs goods bought my post, online or by telephone can be returend for any reason, or no reason, for a full refund within 7 days.

I suggest you buy a box in this way - a catalogue or Tesco Direct, perhaps? - and see how you get on.

Tesco Direct has the advantage that the goods can be returned to a Tesco store.
