Desktop!!

Can someone help me.Im using a packard bell computer,only a few months old with windows xp....and recently after i type in my password at the password screen,it takes like a minute to load,and once my desktop finally appears,nothing is there,apart from my backround....and its been doing this for like a week or so,but this morning i pressed control-alt-delete and went to processes and in the image name it had one called xcalibre.exe,and i just ended it to see what would happen,then everything appeared on my desktop,and now i have to do that everytime i log on.....WHAT IS WRONG WI IT LOL!!!!

You have a virus/spyware/adware. Make sure your anti-virus program is up to date (you DO have one don't you ?) and also download adaware and spybot (both found by a google search) and run them too. As you are using XP you should make sure that you have the firewall turned on (in network connections, right click your connection, select proprties/advanced and check the internet security box)

thank you people...i dont think i have an anti virus programme,but i do have both adaware and spybot,and run them daily..now i no what it is ill prob be able to sort it..ta!

To see your desktop go alt + ctrl + del then task manager then new task... then type in explorer OK

my partner had the same problem if the file or prog is sumthing u can do with out wen u are through to your normal desktop search for the file and see if you can delete it
