I'll assume you mean domestic.

I don't know exact figures, but.

1994 is before ADSL was intuduced in the UK so it would be fairly safe to assume that the majority of people using the internet in a domestic environment back then would have been on a 56kbs dial up connection. There may have been a few domestic users who had ISDN so would have had either 64kbs or 128kbs connection, but these would have been few and far between.

so the average for domestic around 1994 would have been close to 56kbs.

as for now, these should be of interest

http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/speed_r atings.aspx

and overall the average is reckoned to be just under 3Mbs
we didn't get 56k 'till later than that I'd guess 1999
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/56k_modem
says 1998

I think I got adsl 2003?

1994 we were still using 28k - replacements were 33.6
but then it all joins into one

for mole ... is this a pub quiz, an exam ... or essay?
television covered this topic last night, apparently the average broadband speed nationwide is just over 3Mb...chance would be a fine thing!
