Hi can anyone tell me can a dvd recorder with an analogue tuner and a digital tuner, after digital switchover can I still record one channel whilst watching another? These things baffle me.

Your old video cassette recorder could record one programme whilst you watched another because the recorder had its own tuner.

If your new dvd recorder has its own digital tuner, it will work independently of the television, in exactly the same way the video recorder did.

So, yes, you will be able to watch one and record another.
But only if you either have a digital TV set, or a digital converter attached to it - like a Freeview box.

If you are going to rely on just the digital tuner in the DVD machine to get digital reception then you won't be able to record something and watch someting else at the same time.

thanks a lot for help. I have a digital tv with freeview so take it will be ok to watch one and record another thanks again.
