AVG 8 wont update

I keep on trying to do an update on avg but it keeps on failing to update giving the reason : Invalid update control CTF file. Havent got a clue what this means. Does anyone have any ideas .

Hi Rhp, I have had problems in the past with AVG. I found the best way to sort it out was to completely remove it from the PC and then install it again. Worked fine after that.
