Best home office printer
3 Answers
I am about to set up a home office. Can anyone advise of a good experience of a printer for home office use?
Its only really printing I'm after, scanning isn't really a priority.
Speed of priniting is pretty important as the colour feature. However, I'm only likley to be using the paper prints for home use so it doesn't have to be of top quailty

You can get a black and white laser for around 50, which will be fine for basic home printing.

A color laser can also be had fairly cheaply nowadays.
I bought one of these Xerox 6110N COLOUR laser printers for less than 80 a few months ago (network ready as well)
It was on offer so not sure what it would cost now:

Note that replacement toner can be VERY expensive for lasers (often more than the original printer). However the replacement toners come with more ink than the ones in a new printer, and they will print THOUSANDS of pages before you need to replace them (or just buy a new printer).
While you may think that the high cost of replacement toners makes the printers MORE expensive to run than an ink jet, the actual cost per page is far LESS than an ink jet.
