Hi, I've just found a nice picture to be my wallpaper, but when I set it it came up as small squares covering the screen and you can barely see the icons. How do I make it one big picture? TIA

XP or Vista?

XP Ethel, thanks. I've had my pc in the workshop all this week and it's come back completely different, all messed up. I'm obviously glad it's now working but want things back as they were.
Start - control panel - appearance and themes - change the desktop background

In the 'position' box on the right, make sure it says 'stretch'
Right click on your desktop and choose 'properties'. Then choose the 'desktop' tab and on the right hand side, you will have a 'position' drop down box and it sounds like yours is set to TILE. Change it to centre or stretch.

If the picture isn't big enough though and you choose stetch so that it covers the whole screen, it will look blurred and distorted.
