Slow speed
2 Answers
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to why my laptop has suddenly started taking ages to download web pages. Sometimes it is taking up to 5 minutes and other times it displays a message saying that the connection has been interupted and that the document contains no data.
I have a Acer 5315 laptop on Vista and I use Firefox.
I am puzzled by this as it was OK up to Tuesday, then on Wednesday it started going wrong.
I thought that I had picked up a virus or something but I have done a full scan on Norton and it showed nothing

My laptop is wireless.
The internet speed is only 54 Mbps but it has not been a problem until this week.
My daughter uses the same ISP and she has no problems.
It is unlikely that anyone else is using our connection because my next door neighbour operates a Community Local Area Network for the benefit of a nearby village that cannot get internet, and I think most of my neighbours use that.
I have tried IE and it is no better.
I do have as my homepage Everyclick.com so that I can support my local church. I don't know if that is anything to do with it, but sometimes I can only get a result by using Google instead, but even that is very slow.
