i wa watcing t v left the room came back ,no picture ,i have sound but no picture,could this be the tube has gone or something else ,how do i fix it please help i cant afford a new tv ,

so the theory is that the phantom contrast fairy turned it down?
you don't say if it's an old style telly or a flatscreen
either way it doesn't sound good
with all these things many faults "just happen"
it could be a loose connection .. it could be the tube ... or it could be something else completely
(I always check the contrast ;-/
the one thing that is certain however is that unless you know what you are doing there are some pretty high voltages in there 40,000v+ and just having a poke round could be the last thing you ever do
the next problem is ... unless the shop gives free quotes (finding the fault can be time consuming) just paying for the engineer's time will run to �40 or so
