Having upgraded my computer with bigger memory I intend giving the old card containing 512Mb to another user who has only 2x256Mb. Both computers use 184 pin memory but one card is a DDR2700 @ 333MHz and the other is DDR3200 @ 400MHz.

Is it possible either to change the cards over or be in tandem on the target machine?

just about everything works backwards ... but it takes the whole thing down to the slowest speed

you don't say which way round the cards are
the 2700 would slow the 3200 to 333mhz
your memory cards are not the same frequency . so your highest frequency memory card will work and the rest will not.

for this use the same frequency memory cards so they will work .

you can use the 3333 MHZ memory card.
