DVD Movie

I recently bought a camera that takes video, the software that came with it is '' Arcsoft Media Impressions'' when I go to burn the selected video files on to a DVD disc an error message appears saying insert a writable CDR disc in drive, my question is why will it not burn on to a DVD disc as I can get more video on a DVD

Archive media files to CD/DVD
Back Up & Restore from/to CD/DVD, external hard drive and online websites (available in early 09)

I'll do the obvious one.....

You do have a DVD burner in your computer, not just a CD burning don't you?

Thanks for the answers, and yes I do have a DVD and a CD burner and have burnt many of both...
