reinstalling directX should fix it.

http://tinyurl.com/g7juc

Click on continue, it will validate your copy of windows and then download directX, once it's downloaded run it to install and restart your computer then try nero again.

Thanks Chuck but it tells me I have the newest version of Direct X and don't need another , so should I uninstall that one and reinstall again?
I am running Nero on Win XP and have the file quartz.dll in C:\Windows\system32 and C:\Windows \Service Pack\i386.

Check to see if you have the file anywhere on your system (do SEARCH for it) and put a copy in the above mentioned places.

Best of luck.
hang on - express 2? - which version of windows are you running?
oh and probably ... yes ... but you'll have to buy me a couple of drinks ;-)

wak,my comp tells me I have quartz..dll
AC the Troll running win.xp it's nero thats express
If your computer tells you that you have the quartz.dll file, does it say where the file is???
Question Author
Hi again Wak, quartz.dll is in my documents ..c:\windows\system32 etc....
You could try dragging a copy of the file "quartz.dll" into C:\Windows\System as well as C:\Windows\System32.
The program could be looking for it in the wrong place if it's an old program and it won't do any harm wherever you put it.
Question Author
Wak, I now have quartz.dll in four locations! lol still no joy. I have been wondering if the disc is too old to register, but it was on my comp b4 and working until I uninstalled it being advised that an error on my WMP would be easier solved with out it ,sadly it didn't work. Thanks for your help though. I have to ask with a nickname of wak u from Liverpool?
Hi, sorry things aren't working out re Nero.
Wak is from my school days, short for Walker and originally from Hull.
So what's the Moyeruk stand for??
Some programs seem to search for dll files by looking in the relevant folder(s). Others appear to be unable to find the file unless it's indexed from the registry. It sounds as if Nero Express 2 is examining the registry and can't see where the file is.

So you need to manually register the dll file.
