Cleaning my computer

A free trial of RegCure shows over 1300 faults. How good is RegCure ?. Anyone out there had any experience of this program.

all registry cleaners will do one of two things.

Do bu&&er all

or

make things worse!

What is the definition of a "fault" in the registry?

If a program is deleted, and a few entries are left in the registry it wont hurt Windows or make your PC go slower.

But a program like RegCure will treat these as "faults".

I have never run a registry cleaner in my life and never felt I needed to.

They are a scam, con, rip off.

Regcure kept interfering here....went to Mozilla Firefox & re-downloaded (no program removals etc). Knocked out the Regcure interference.

you were right to be suspicious :)

Stick to one decent bit of anti virus software, a couple of good bits of antispyware software, and I'd suggest running Ccleaner occasionally as well

Yes I did some time ago long back in my nievity RegCure and and others simply want to sell their products and as such play on peoples feelings of doubt and anxiety May I suggest AVG free 8.5 and Spybot search and destroy.I use Internet Explorer and have just installed IE8 which seems to make security even easier

Yes this tool is really helpfull but sometime harmfull whenever it trial version.

Since trial version collects only error but failed to resolve and prompt you to register for further...
