Micro SD card not recognised by computer

Here's one that's baffling me! I have a new micro SD card in my LG Viewty but when I put it in the adaptor and into the E: drive slot on the computer it is not recognised. No sign it is there at all under disc management etc etc.

Now here's the funny bit. It worked fine before it was formatted by the phone. As soon as that was done, the problem started. It's not a fault with the drive (other SD cards work fine) or how it sits in the adapter. This has happened to my son, too. So it's something to do with the fomatting that has upset it. And as there's stuff stored on it, I don't want to re-format it in the camera or it will all be lost!

Any ideas??? Pleeeeeease? !!

you have a problem with the adapter.
go to a pound shop and buy one for a pound , insert your sd card into it, and insert the adapter into your usb port.

ive had the same happen a few times

i may be wrong but im guessing 99.6% sure that this is the problem

I don't think it is the adapter - I have already tried two and other micro sd cards work fine in it ... hence the head scratching!
What capacity is the card? Some readers/computers can't handle SDHC cards (<2GB).
Have you locked the card

Card can't be locked as it's a micro one. It's a 4gb card but as I said, it was being read fine by the computer until it was formatted by the phone. My son had the phone before me and said he had the same trouble but the phone recognised 2gb of the card (his was 6gb). Aargh!
