Which mp3 player

iPod, Rio Karma, Sony, Philips, Creative: There seems so much choice. Most stores will only stock sertain brands so their opinion will be biased. What should I go for? Should I look for something for my entire collection or just my favourite  tracks?

Which magazine recently tested all current MP3 players, and the iPod was way ahead of the competition.

sorry, but the cost of Ipods is a major down point.  I'f you're after something like an ipod, in terms of memory, I'd point you towards a Creative Zen 30GB, currently pretty low price everywhere (around �169 or so) 

depending how big your collection is, look for the Creative Zen Mirco.  It's very very sexy :) 5GB to the mini ipods 4GB and the same price.  plus the colours are much cooler.

the main advantage of the iPod seems to be these iTrip things you can attach to send signal to car stereo. Do any other devices have similar ?
