-Don't try and connect the dvd through the video, as the macrovision copy protection will create picture distortion. (This does not apply if your dvd player has been hacked!).
-Use an s-video cable and 2 phonos for audio, between DVD and the tv. Select the right output signal in the dvd setup menu!
-If you have problems with this, you could use TV scart 1 for the dvd and scart 2 for the video.
Connect sky to vcr scart 2 AV input and watch it that way, through the video, with the added bonus of getting good quality recordings should you need to tape off sky when watching something off normal TV.
