. . . I stopped answering questions on AB. For quite some time I contributed hoping to help people who had problems I thought I may be able to solve. The problem was and still is that having satisfied their pleas for help they no longer want to help fellow browsers who may be having similar problems by leaving a feedback.
I'm not talking about gratitude, plaudits and the like - just a simple yeh or ney whether the suggestions had the desired effect. This could prove so helpful, whether it worked or not, to fellow sufferers.
A case in point was a few days ago when I responded to whingeing pleas for help over someone who was unable to copy and past. Did they come back to say whether it worked or not? No, of course he didn't! So I say to him from the people who may be having the same problem - thanks for nothing.
I sometimes get the impression that only IT pro's are allowed to assist. Doesn't stop me adding my tuppence worth! Then I think why should I share tips - but that's shallow thinking?
