I have a Belkin F5D6130 WAP connected to my router. All works fine when I power it up, it gets itself an IP and settles down with all lights on and static.

After a short period of time (which varies from 1 to 10 minutes), the orange light in the middle starts to flicker, and i lose the IP.

Nothing else connected to the router drops out, just the WAP.

Any ideas anyone?

Try another cable.

Where does the WAP get its IP from?  The router or itself?  Might be worth setting it statically.

What does the orangle light in the middle mean? RTFM ;o)
