A pornograhic advert has hijacked my computer, it appears on top of answerbank page and a couple of other sites as well, unable to delete it, used ad aware etc, please can anybody advise on how to get rid of it, i also used Norton 2005 which does not find anything

how bout a system restore? start, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. pick a date prior to your problem. you can only choose the highlighted dates.

Try this link, it will take you to a download for Aluria Spyware Eliminator. This is only a trial download, so will only work for 30 days. It is fully functional though and will remove things that both Adaware SE and Spybot miss. Having said that both of those programs are excellent for freebies.
