what would you do....?
53 Answers
evening all,
today i went into a supermarket to buy a lucky dip lottery ticket to put in my mum and dads christmas card as a little extra gift.
now, ive never actually bought a lottery ticket before (!) so i didnt really know what i was asking for, and said to the cashier girl ''id like £5 lucky dips please for this weeks lottery''
with that she printed my ticket and i handed me money over and that was it.
on checking the ticket when i got in, it says its for the 'euromillions' draw for this friday night ..
i wanted a ticket for the ordinary lottery for this saturday..
i know im being a bit thick here, lol, but am i right in thinking they are entirely different things?? and ive been given the wrong sort??
i was planning on returning to the shop tomorrow, explaining the error, in hope they will void this ticket and give me the correct one.
does anyone know if they can/will do this for me, and is there proof on the ticket that i actually bought it from them?
or
if you were me, would you keep the euromillions one and still put it in their card....??
ps - how does the prize money compare to the ordinary lottery prize money?
thanks!

hi looby
no point in returning it as they wouldn't be able to void it ,there is a time limit on the void cant remember exactly been a while since i had to void one but it isn't long sorry ,they would probably just keep it and a member of staff would buy it , that's what we used to do ,i would keep it because how would you feel if you walked into the shop next week and some people were no longer working there as they had won .
Good luck on Friday x

hi nomercy,
is it £2 a line, i didnt know that... see mes a bit unknowledgeable when it comes to this lottery gambling malarkey lol ... hold on, let me check the ticket again...
right, ive it here infront of me...
ok, euromillions is at the top of the ticket, draw is on 25th dec, theres 5 lines of lotto numbers, then theres 5 lines of raflle numbers too
and then under all that it says 5 plays x £2 for 1 draw = £10
soooooo, does that mean i shouldve paid a tenner then for this ticket??!
tonyted, yeah, thats what i was kind of thinking too! lol

hi dot,
no i didnt realise the error until id got home.
i asked for £5 of lucky dips on the ordinary lottery, which is a £1 a line, so i handed over the right money for what i thought i was getting.
