DVD playing up

My dvd player will only play some some discs and not others, some of those it won't play are brand new. Any help appreciated

Check the regions and also see if they are divx, I bought an LG and it wouldn't play many discs so bought a cheaper which plays them all.

you should get your reading eye cleaned or buy a cleaning disc and do it.
If it's an old player it could be knackered.

As NetIbiza says, the cheapy ones you get for twenty quid in your local supermarket usually play everything, including every region. Makes no sense, but there you go.
