Do payslips have to be issued when a wage is paid, ie on the same day? Is there a law governing this?

Thanks Androcles. My daughter's wages are paid electronically and she usually has to wait for a couple of weeks before her wage slips catch up with her. She needs them now to apply for a grant at college. I Thought that it was a legal requirement, so thank you again.
So, as you see from Androcles link, it is unlawful (it's a breach of one of the Employment Protection Acts). It's almost certainly a pure administrative foul-up by the organisation as they have clearly run the payroll to get the necessary figures to pay the employees. Just chase the admin people for the payslip.
Not a public-sector employer, I suppose?
