It used to be possible to send text messages to mobiles from the internet via a PC (Lycos used to offer the facility) Does anyone know of a website offering this facility now? Preferably a free one!! ;-)

TIA

Carboard fish is a good one But BEWARE I have looked at several but after reading the blurb I found that there are hidden costs ,for example the person you are sending the message has to pay a fee to pick up the message ,
Err hang on a mo. The text recipient incurs no cost in picking up a text sent from the Cardboard Fish website.
The service wouldn't last long if this were the case - I've sent thousands over the years from CF and no one's ever told they've been charged. Send one to yourself to see.

I think you have misread my reply .
I have said Cardboard Fish is a "good one" BUT REWARE then please read on.

It is very important to read the Terms and Conditions just read some of the ones on the page that is listed in RED from CF
I appreciate the point in a mo but the fault is yours. You should have said " I have looked at several OTHERS... " rather than what you did say.
