Washing machine problem.

I bought a washing machine a month ago. It's seems to be working fine except for one programme which never ends - a quick wash, supposedly 60 minutes but it just keeps on washing until I turn it to spin.

It's a modern machine with lots of programmes. I've tried a couple of other progs and they work okay. If I sent it back, I have the inconvenience of being without it, having to get it repackaged and picked up etc.

Any advice please? Would you keep it and just avoid the faulty programme? And anyone know if it's a sign that something else will soon start going wrong? It's a modern machine, a Hotpoint Ultima.

Thanks for any replies. xxx

It's still under warranty, ask them to come and look at it. Might just need an adjustment?
Have you got rinse hold turned on?

Thanks boxtops. It's still under warranty as I've only had it a month, I bought it off the internet.

It would be great if they could put it right without me having to send it back. I'll dig out the contact number and give them a ring.

Sorry chuck, just noticed your reply.

I can't see a button that refers to "rinse hold" - but I'll check the manual. Thanks.

It's an all-singing, all-dancing model. It even says hello to me when I switch it on!
even if you bought it over the internet (providing it is from a reliable supplier) you should have an instruction manual with it and that should tell you where to get service under guarantee. Try hotpoint website.

I bought it from Next Domestic Appliances. I phoned them earlier and they put me through to Hotpoint Customer Services. We had a conference call (that's a first for me). Both were very helpful and are sending an engineer round on Thursday of next week to check the machine out.

Can't see any reference to rinse and hold in the manual - Chuck's got me a wee bit worried - I hope I'm not reading the instructions wrong!
get the dolly tub and the mangle out............
